Where are you going in 2017?

I created a calendar to organize myself and share with others:
International Eating Disorder Awareness and Education Events
Sessions and panels are important, but much of the value of events is the opportunity to really meet and discuss issues. More gets done in hallways, in terms of relationships, than in meetings. Nothing replaces actually being there. So far, I'm committed to the upcoming IAEDP meeting in Las Vegas. I'm hoping to attend the AED ICED meeting in Prague, and the NEDA/BEDA event in New York and Renfrew Conference in November are also on my wish list.
Where are you going in 2017?
So far I'm not going anywhere but I'm still looking for affordable, useful sessions and conferences to go to. You are right, it is by showing up, again and again, that we get heard. Events are often expensive and unwelcoming but some can be surprisingly affordable or even free and even those professionals who express no interest in meeting with families can be the ones who are surprisingly welcome
ReplyDeleteThey are a luxury, especially for those of us, like you and me, who they aren't designed for anyway! But it matters. Please let me know if you find anything that isn't on my list -- information sharing is something you and I are really good at!!
