As a devoted fan of xkcd (I've never been cooler in my daughter's eyes than when she found out I even knew what xkcd was...), I've worried along with other fans about his recent health problem. So it is with extra love that I share a recent kick-ass moment (excuse the profanity):

Right on. I think many people tend to take for granted all the huge advantages that science has brought to our lives. We have eradicated the worst of the diseases that have plagued mankind for thousands of years and we have increased life expectancy by decades. Very little of that scientific approach, however, has been brought to bear in the study of clinical eating disorders. That needs to change!
