  1. This book: Skinny Boy by
Gary A. Grahl has a link for advice on helping a person with an Eating Disorder that are questionable.

I have Anorexia and I read the Parent Forum and sometimes the parents don't understand that the ED thoughts go beyond not wanting to gain.

He has a list of ED thoughts that really capture how disordered the thoughts are:

I read a chapter of the book and his thoughts sounded too much like mine.

I put it down because he wrote how he was able to trick his way out of eating a sandwich in IP.

For a person with an ED this is very damaging to read. It doesn't matter how the book ended or how he recovered; my ED mind isn't able grasp that concept yet.

  3. Anonymous - we used to have Skinny Boy on our review list but no parents went on to rate it after the original nomination so we dropped it off the list. Now I'm glad. Thank you!

Carrie, WE are proud YOU are a part of it!!
