"Fear-induced feeding cessation" sure sounds like dieting to me!

If we're looking for a reason for why a higher percentage of girls develop eating disorders (though the disorder is no less severe in a boy who does) then maybe these little rats are giving us a clue?

  1. Very interesting Laura. So the response of restriction under fear situations appears to be physiological and the prolonged response may be from a persisant maladaptive response. There are so many physiological changes that occur both in the brain and subsequently in the body under fight or flight stimulation. It has definitely given me great deal of insight into Ed .
