Spring cleaning
We had a series of unfortunately coincidental weather issues here in Virginia and three WEEKS without a full day of school. The drifts are still high, but it is starting to thaw and I'm in the mood for spring cleaning! First, I'm shoveling out the list of all my blog post drafts for the past few months that never got finished:
- Think Twice: How the Gut's "Second Brain" Influences Mood and Well-Being
- Autism and Asperger syndrome underdiagnosed in women: one in five women with an eating disorder thought to be on the autistic spectrum
- Monitoring bacterial community in obese and anorexic patients
- Sleep disturbance in women with eating disorder
- Childhood anxiety associated with low BMI
- Social Comparison and Its Relation to Body Dissatisfaction in Bulimia Nervosa: Evidence From Eye Movements
- Comparison of body size estimation in adolescents
- The assessment of body image distortion in female
- Effects of cognitive-behavioral therapy on Eating Disorders: neurotransmitter response
- Symptoms of traumatic stress in mothers of children victims of a motor vehicle accident (check out the fascinating difference in the way mothers and fathers respond.)
- Essential Family Guide to Borderline Personality Disorder
My two favorites, and both deserving of their own posts if I had the time:
Psychological benefits 2 and 4 weeks after a single treatment with near infrared light to the forehead (yes, light to the head!)
Finally, a protocol for PANDAS assessment: PANDAS and anorexia nervosa-a spotters' guide
