Drug for bingeing behavior shows promise
Reports from a small clinical trial of baclofen for the treatment of bingeing in both bulimia and BED are out. Baclofen has been used for cocaine and alcohol addiction and to treat MS. Of the six subjects (1 other did not complete the trial):
"Three women with BED and two with bulimia experienced a 50% or greater reduction in binge eating frequency during the course of the study. Moreover, two BED patients and one bulimia patient were completely free of binge eating at week 10."
